Products & Materials

What are your bookends and home decor pieces made from?
The majority of our products are made from steel, cut using precision laser cutting and finished with a black powder coat. A few pieces use alloy steel or cast metal depending on the design. Every product page lists the specific material and dimensions for that item.

Why powder coating instead of paint?
Powder coating is baked onto the metal rather than layered on top, which makes it significantly more resistant to chipping, scratching, and fading than painted finishes. For pieces that get handled daily — key holders, coat hooks, bookends — that durability makes a real difference over time.

Will your bookends actually hold heavy books?
Yes. Our bookends are built from solid steel with meaningful weight behind them, specifically so they can hold hardcovers, textbooks, and oversized volumes upright without sliding or tipping. Each product page lists the weight and dimensions, so you can match a set to your collection.

Do your products scratch furniture?
Most of our bookends and napkin holders include rubber or felt padding on the base to protect wood, glass, and laminate surfaces. Check the individual product page to confirm which pieces include padding.

Are bookends sold as a pair or individually?

Can your products be used outdoors?
Some can. Our napkin holders are rust-resistant and suitable for patio and deck use. Bookends and wall-mounted pieces are designed primarily for indoor use and should be kept away from direct moisture.

Shipping & Delivery

Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — free shipping on all orders over $35. Orders under $35 ship at a flat rate of $7.

Where do you ship?
We ship within the United States only, excluding Hawaii and Alaska. We do not currently offer international shipping.

Will I get tracking information?
Yes. Once your order ships, you’ll receive tracking details so you can follow your delivery.

Returns & Damages

What is your return policy?
We offer free returns within 15 days of delivery. Items must be returned in their original packaging and in unused, resalable condition.

Why do you require original packaging?
Our metal products ship in packaging designed specifically to prevent bending, scratching, and finish damage. Returns sent in other packaging frequently arrive damaged.

My order arrived damaged. What do I do?
Email support@decorativebookends.com with your order number, a description of the damage, and clear photos of the product. We review every report and will respond with next steps.

Installation & Care

Do wall-mounted products include mounting hardware?
Yes. Our key holders and coat hooks ship with the necessary screws, anchors, and instructions.

How much weight can your coat hooks hold?
Our heavy-duty wall organizers are rated up to 50 pounds. Check individual product pages for specific capacities.

How should I clean my products?
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which can dull the powder-coat finish.
